Two kinds of texture maps - the bottom was a lot easier to do on Photoshop. It was less time consuming, and can be more effective.

Design development

From the initial starting point of looking at butterflies, I have created my own mandala. This is a textural design, and could be blockier, however this texture gives the design some depth compared to others.

Mandala Project

Starting to look at how to create my own mandala. I want to make it different, so have decided to look at butterflies and beetles as my initial starting point. I have drawn a couple here. This image has been completed by actually mirroring and flipping the image on Photoshop as the original drawing was only half complete. This was done so that I could have an idea of what the completed drawing would look like.
